Joey Chestnut Loses A Pot-Sticker Eating Competition

(TMZ) — Joey Chestnut — perhaps the greatest competitive eater in the history of food — had a giant helping of DEFEAT at the World Gyoza Eating Championships this weekend … and TMZ was there for the whole thing. Chestnut — the reigning Gyoza eating champion (266 in 2012) — was chewed up and spit out by 21-year-old eating prodigy Matt Stonie … the #4-ranked eater on Planet Earth. It all went down at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in L.A. … where Chestnut stomached 251 gyozas and Stonie threw down 268!!!

Let’s just say what everyone is thinking: of course Joey Chestnut lost to this guy in a pot-sticker eating competition at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center. I mean, I don’t want to be racist but I know home cooking when I see it. The Japanese-American looking kid just happens to upset the all-time eating champion in a pot-sticker eating competition at the Japanese-American Center? Sounds a little fishy. Gonna need a re-match at a neutral site with some neutral cuisine if you ask me.

And if Joey did lose fairly (doubt it), what the fuck is he doing participating in this competition anyway? Joey, you smash hot dogs at Coney Island on the 4th of July. That’s the big leagues. Don’t fuck around with small time competitions like this. It can only end poorly. Like if you won no one would care, it would just be expected. But since you lost all of a sudden it’s international news. Just stupid business.It’s like a pro athlete playing in some beer league. Nothing to gain, everything to lose. Not worth it at all.
