On Episode 102 of the Section 10 Podcast, it’s kinda, sorta, maybe starting to sink in that David Ortiz possibly isn’t joking about retiring from baseball. Still not 100% convinced, but maybe. Nevertheless, we open the show talking about how our recurring guest Pete Blackburn was let go from Fox Sports. We discuss how it all went down and where he goes from here. Then we get into the Big Papi roast last Thursday and how everyone who’s outraged by the jokes that were made need to go fuck themselves. It’s a roast. That’s what happens at roasts. And it was for charity. Those “offensive” jokes raised money for kids. Shut the fuck up.

Then we get into the Ortiz number retirement. It was a nice ceremony, but I hate that they didn’t wait until he went into the Hall of Fame first. We have a theory as to why they didn’t wait. I shit on that “Red Sox to make major upgrades over the next six weeks” article that everyone got all excited about, and then we hit on John Farrell’s freakout on home plate umpire Bill Miller that got him suspended for tonight’s game, how we’d miss Farrell if he ever were to get fired, and Kevin Millar’s home run over the weekend in an indy game.

Down in the DM: Who’s the last player you’d want the Red Sox to trade? MFK — Julio Lugo, Carl Crawford, Pablo Sandoval. Two more DMs from Colombia –- one from a chick that loves the show, and the other from Diego who BLASTS Pete for ripping Colombia and calling him a drug lord. Last, should the Red Sox look to acquire Freddie Freeman to play third base?
