I Hate The Decision To Suspend Ndominic Suh More Than Life Itself

So the NFL just suspended Ndominic Suh for 1 game for stomping on Aaron Rodgers. Obviously his past history had lots to do with the decision. And I’m not going to sit here and say that Suh isn’t a dirty player because he is. But I like it and I like him. Football is a nasty game. Not everybody is supposed to be buddy buddy. I want my defensive lineman to want to cripple the opposing QB. I want them to play with an edge. I wouldn’t change one thing about Suh or the way he plays if he was on my team.  Some of the all time greats like Butkus, Hamm etc are some of the dirtiest players who ever laced em up. And as far as dirty plays go that was harmless. If Suh really wanted to hurt Rodgers he could have pressed down and smashed his ankle to smithereens. He didn’t. He just kind of stomped him a little bit. You could even tell by Rodgers reaction it wasn’t that painful. If it’s a regular season I have no problem suspending him a game because of all his past indiscretions, but the playoffs? That’s garbage. That did not warrant having your best player miss the biggest game in 2 decades for the Lions. I honestly couldn’t hate this decision more. Ray Rice got 2 games for knocking out his wife. Suh got half that for a weak curb stomp in the heat of the moment. A move by the way that anybody but him probably doesn’t get suspended for at all and can play off as an innocent mistake. It just doesn’t seem the punishment fits the crime in this case. Losing your best player in your biggest game doesn’t sit well with me.
