Holyoke City Workers Are Asking For The Bathrooms To Be Locked Because People Keep Banging In Them And Doing Drugs

HOLYOKE, Mass. —Workers at Holyoke City Hall are asking that the bathrooms in the building’s basement be locked because people are using the facilities to bathe, as a place to meet to have sex and use drugs. Thirteen employees in a petition submitted to the City Council Public Safety Committee on Wednesday said things have “gotten out of hand.” They are asking that the bathrooms be locked, employees be given their own keys, while members of the public who want to use the facilities must ask to borrow a key.

I like how they say the problem had “gotten out of hand.” Like the first few times they caught people fucking and doing drugs in City Hall it was like eh whatever, that’s Western Mass for you. But after the 5th time they saw a homeless guy eating pussy and shooting up they thought “Ok this has got to stop. Get out the petition!”

But if I’m being honest, a locked bathroom door means there’s no bathroom as far as I’m concerned. I will never, ever, ask somebody for a bathroom key. I get all self-conscious and wonder if they think I’m taking a shit. Never mind the fact that the key is always attached to some outrageously large keychain that’s soaked in piss and fecal matter. No thanks, taking a leak isn’t worth getting e. coli. If I walk into a gas station and the bathrooms are outside and you need a key then 11 times out of 10 I’m getting back in my car and either pissing my pants or finding a new station.
