Good News, It Looks Like Tom Brady Is Going To Survive His Horrific Scissor Incident

PHEW! I don’t know about you guys but I was real worried over the weekend. Couldn’t enjoy my fun in the sun because I didn’t know if Tom Brady’s hand, the one that was so damaged he walked out of the stadium to his own car without any noticeable bandage on, was going to be ok. Today, he finally revealed the terrible injury that had sports talk losing their minds and it looks like he’s going to survive it. Probably just a little amputation, little Luke Skywalker prosthetic, and a few months of rehab and he’ll be good as knew. Thank goodness, guys. Really dodged a bullet on this one.

This is why I have such a hard time freaking out about anything right now. Everyone is so thirsty for football that every little thing becomes a massive storyline. Edelman leaves practice? He reinjured that foot! The sky is falling! Oops, nope, he’s back out there the next day and looks great. Gronk tweaked his hammy? My god what are we gonna do?!? Never mind, he’s fine too. Tom Brady left the stadium after Belichick said he was going to start? He sliced his thumb open with scissors?!? WAS IT TO THE BONE?! No, he got a little prick. Unless you have four hours of air time to fill then preseason is so stupid to freak out about. The team will be healthy at the end of the year, they will win no less than 12 games, and they will be there at the end of the season. Keep the blood pressure down until then.

PS – Except Dion Lewis. Maybe worry about Dion Lewis a little. Still think everyone would take a guy hurt in August over a guy hurt in November every day of the week. Also James White did a fine job filling in for him last year and he’ll do the same this year. Vollmer’s hurt, Cannon will be fine. I’m sorry if this seems over-simplistic, but I’m just judging my reactions on 15 years of history. If you’re looking for a guy to be running around like his head is on fire then you are in the VERY wrong place. You want to panic about August injuries that will keep a few guys out for some time then turn on the radio, panic don’t live here no mo’. Bill Belichick evicted him.
