SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) - CBS 3 Springfield has learned exclusively a gun used in a 2012 murder in Boston, allegedly linked to former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, was found in a car in Springfield. It all happened after a car crash on June 21 on Interstate 91 in Springfield. In a state police report, Jailene Diaz-Ramos of Bristol, CT was involved in an accident and taken to Baystate Medical Center. According to the police report, state police say they took inventory of her car and found a .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver in a black briefcase in the trunk. That gun was sent for ballistics testing. State police sources tell CBS 3 it was the weapon used in the killing of two men outside a Boston bar in 2012. According to court documents, Diaz-Ramos told police the gun belonged to a friend she referred to as “Chicago”. She told police she drove Chicago and his friends to work, and that they are football players. She went on to say they wanted to leave the black briefcase in the trunk so they wouldn’t have to bring it into work. Police are now continuing to investigate Hernandez’s possible connection to those murders.

Hernandez’s ineptitude is on such a level that I’m having a hard time even understanding it anymore. Like he had this Jailene Diaz-Ramos girl drive around the country with the murder weapon in her trunk for a year? Do I have that right? Chick drove by countless bodies of water, woods, and back alley dumpsters but decided to keep the gun in a briefcase in the trunk? To what end? And what’s the point of using a codename if you’re gonna reveal basically everything about the guy. What the hell is that? “Oh no that’s not my gun. It’s my friend’s, let’s call him ‘Chicago.’ He’s a football player. I drive him to work at 1 Patriot Place. I kept the gun because Belichick doesn’t let him bring guns into the locker room. But that’s all I’m saying.”
