Breaking News: Two Swampscott Hockey Players Suspended For State Title Game For Drinking At School Dance Yesterday

SWAMPSCOTT — Two key members of Swampscott’s boys hockey team will not be allowed to play Sunday’s Division 3 state championship game at the TD Garden against Westfield. School Superintedent Lynne Celli confirmed the suspensions, saying that the players in question reportedly a forward and a defenseman admitted Friday night during a school dance that they’d consumed alcohol. MIAA rules governing consumption of alcohol by athletes call for suspension for at least 25 percent of their ensuing games. As a result, the two will also be forced to miss a number of games in whichever sports they play in the spring. “I am very sad … very distraught,” Celli said today, “and I’m disappointed. I want our kids to be safe. My whole tenure here has been based on safety for our kids.“I know that the whole town is excited about the game,” she said. “I”ll be there, cheering for the kids. But safety has to be the No. 1 priority.”

Listen nobody hates school administrators more than me and I’m obviously a Swampscott guy, but honestly how stupid do you have to be?  I mean you’re in the State Title game on Sunday and you drink at a school fucking dance on Friday Night?
