Brady Taking the Blame for the Patriots Mistakes Like a Boss

PFTThe Patriots are 3-0, but they’re winning more with defense and special teams than with the offense, which ranks 17th in the NFL in yards and 22nd in the NFL in points. But Tom Brady says that’s not the fault of the team’s new receiving corps… “I think throwing an interception right to a strong safety last week doesn’t help,” Brady said. “Especially two plays before, I had a wide open guy. I think plays like that are more the problem. I have to a good job finding the open guys, guys that are running free and then hit them. That will help our red zone offense more than anything… We’ve definitely left some points on the board, just poor execution. I’ve been one of the main culprits. Hopefully I try to improve that.” Brady says his own play needs to improve for the Patriots to score more… It’s nice of Brady not to throw his teammates under the bus.

Well that settles that. So much for all this horseshit about Brady pointing fingers and throwing hissy fits instead of being a leader. All those dildos like Shannon Sharpe saying he’s out of line and Tom Jackson calling him “deplorable” can eat their words now because here’s Brady doing what a leader does: Taking the blame. Throwing himself on the sword. Issuing a mea maxima culpa.  Some guys are born leaders and some are not and Tom Terrific is a born leader.  Sure, some will argue that the time for taking the rap for mistakes in the huddle, on the sidelines and right after the game, not three days later. But why pick nits?  Brady acknowledged the buck stops with him so let’s not quibble over when and where he did it. Let’s just all agree that the words “I’ve been one of the main culprits” have never passed the lips of Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers or either Manning brother and leave it at that.   @JerryThornton1
