Amazon's "Keep Calm And Rape Me" Shirts Are Flying Off The Shelves

(Yahoo) – Retail giant Amazon was asked to make a “substantial donation” to a woman’s refuge on Saturday night after its UK website offered T-shirts for sale promoting rape and violence against women. The T-shirts, which were also manufactured and sold in the U.S., included slogans were spun off the phrase, “Keep Calm and Carry On”, a famous British propaganda slogan and included shirts that read: “Keep Calm and Hit Her”, “Keep Calm and Rape a Lot” and “Keep Calm and Rape Them” for $23–$26.

While you won’t be seeing me in a “Keep Calm and Rape a Lot” or “Keep Calm and Rape Them” tshirt any time soon, why is the “Keep Calm and Rape Me” shirt a big deal? No one is making people wear these. It’s not a uniform of any kind. People willingly purchase it then willingly wear it out. The only thing they don’t want is the sex they’re asking for. It’s a well known thing that many girls have rape fantasies. This is just basically a sign acknowledging it. It’s helpful, really. Dangerous to walk around town hoping you pick a girl who happens to enjoy rape.
