A Quick Note About Our Boy Gregg Doyle From the Indy Star

gdoyle

So lots of people have sent me the article that this clown Gregg Doyle (nice Goatee Clown boy) wrote yesterday about Deflategate.  I’m not going to link to it because it’s below me.  I wasn’t even going to acknowledge it because frankly it’s below me.  But enough people have emailed it where I need to quickly address it.    The nuts and bolts of the article was that Greg Doyle said the biggest losers in Deflategate were as follows.

1. The Patriots

2. Patriot Fans

3. The City of Boston except Ron Borges

That was literally his thesis.  Then he pretty much proceeded to say that it didn’t matter that the NFL, Colts and Ravens orchestrated Deflategate or what the truth is.  It doesn’t matter that the Pats are universally seen as the greatest team in the history of the NFL.   None of it mattered because for a couple weeks people thought the Pats cheated and perception becomes reality.   No joke that was the article.   It was so dumb that if the Indy Star had an ounce of integrity they would have fired him on the spot.

But here is the thing.  And here is why I blogged it.  Gregg Doyle has already admitted who he is as a writer.  He doesn’t try to make sense.  He doesn’t try to make coherent points.  He doesn’t try to be good.  He writes just to antagonize people.  Just say the dumbest most outrageous shit ever and see what happens.  Yell FIRE in a movie theater and watch people scramble.  Say the Boston Marathon bombings was a conspiracy and watch the pageviews roll in. That’s Gregg Doyle.  That doesn’t take talent.  Literally anybody can do this.  The Indy Star is supposed to be a reputable newspaper but is really no different than the National Inquirer.   They might as well be publishing stories about Aliens landing in Boston rather than this garbage.  Gregg Doyle might as well be some 13 year old writing in his basement.   That’s the same amount of credibility he has.  Don’t take my word for it.  Take his.

“Gregg Doyel, a columnist at the Indianapolis Star, published a column saying that if found guilty, the Patriots ought to be taken out of the Super Bowl. “Here’s how it works,” Doyel told me. “If you write something and it’s compelling enough, it leaves a mark. Boston went nuts over what I wrote. You know why? Because I left a mark. I’ll take that.”

That’s why he’s not worth the time I spent blogging this.  That’s why I promise I will never mention his name again.   From now on I’ll just point to this blog the next time he makes an ass out of himself. This is what is wrong with guys like Gregg Doyel, Shank, and Kravitz. Old world media guys who aren’t talented enough to write things that people enjoy reading so they just write to agitate. And they do it under the guise of reputable journalism. It’s one thing to write inflammatory shit if you write for Barstool, but the Indianapolis Star and Globe etc claim neutrality. They claim to be reputable sources with no side agendas. That’s why they get so many pageviews with this shit. Because they spew hate and propaganda on a medium that claims to be unbiased, Anybody can slap an article on Boston Globe or Indianapolis Star and say ridiculous shit and get pageviews. That doesn’t mean you did a good job. It means you’re not good enough to get people to read you without stooping to this level. It’s just old school journalists seeing their futures flash between their eyes and selling their souls and integrity to stay afloat.
