Wake Up With Matt Holiday's Walk-Off Hit Against The Phillies

I hate to break it to you, Cardinals fans, but it’s Wild Card or bust this year. There are going to be some excellent divisional races in the National League in 2016 with the Giants and Dodgers in the NL West, and the Nationals, Mets and Phillies in the NL East, but the NL Central isn’t gonna be one of them. The Cubs became the first team to 20 wins on Wednesday, putting six games between them and the second place Pittsburgh Pirates, who have a one-game lead on the Cardinals.

The Cubs have been an ass-kicking machine this year, and are exactly what everybody thought they would be. As talented as the teams are in the NL Central, I don’t think we’ll see another year where three teams from that division make the postseason — not with the Nationals and Mets playing as well as they are. That being said, there’s no doubt the Cardinals are still one of the best teams in the league, despite being a .500 team through their first 28 games. They were a 100-win team just a year ago, and the loss of Jason Heyward shouldn’t be THAT great of a loss to derail this Cardinals team. But like I said earlier, it’s Wild Card or bust, because the Cubs are in a league of their own, and Heyward really hasn’t even contributed yet.

Cue the “It’s only May” people, but what the Cubs are doing compared to what everyone else is doing, both offensively and pitching-wise, it’s like night and day.
