The Start of a Dynasty...Florida Takes Home Their Second "Most Arrested Team In The SEC" Title In A Row

NOLA - Thanks to two in-season arrests this past year, Florida became the first two-time winner of the coveted “Golden Handcuffs” that I award to the SEC football team that annually has the most arrests in a calendar year.

According to arrestnation.com, which has tracked the arrests of college and pro athletes and coaches since August 2010, the Gators had 8 arrests in 2015 just ahead of Alabama and Mississippi State with 6 each and LSU with 5.

Overall, the SEC had 42 football players arrested in 2015, 21.3 percent of the overall 197 players arrested nationally. That may seem like a lot, but it’s a dramatic dropoff from 2014 when the league had 67 players arrested (26.5 of the national total of 253).

Over the last five full seasons that arrestnation.com has recorded arrests, Florida is the SEC’s most arrested football program with 26, with Georgia next at 22 followed by Ole Miss and Texas A&M (which joined the league with Missouri in 2013) with 21 each. LSU, with 19 arrests, is in a three-way tie for seventh with Kentucky and Missouri.

Congratulations to UF for keeping their arrest game strong and taking home the Most Arrested trophy for the second year running. The title everyone strives for, more prestigious than the Heisman even. Bottom line is there is no better indication of a program on the right track than one that has a good fair share of lockups. And Florida had some doozies.

I’m not even joking or being sarcastic like normal. You 100% need some guys getting arrested on your squad. You need edge, guys who don’t give a fuck about anything, especially the law. This is SEC football we’re talking about, a grown man’s game.

I mean just look at the full 2015 results:

1. Florida – 8
2. Alabama – 6
2. Mississippi State – 6
4. LSU – 5
5. Georgia – 4
5. Tennessee – 4
5. Ole Miss – 4
8. Arkansas – 3
9. Auburn – 1
9. Texas A&M – 1
11. Kentucky – 0
11. Missouri – 0
11. Vanderbilt – 0
11. South Carolina – 0

Kentucky, Missouri, Vandy and SC – how’d they do this year? Hear a lot about them? See a lot of their highlights on ESPN? See them featured a lot on the Kmarko Roundups? Exactly. Irrelevant programs in 2015. Bunch of uptight nerds, squares, squids. Guys you want running your Debate team or organizing the Chess Club, not guys you want lining up on the gridiron across from a future #1 NFL draft pick and trying to plant him on his ass. You want to win games, you don’t want guys you’d feel comfortable with babysitting your children – you want some bad ass motherfuckers.

That’s just common sense really.
