Sad stuff from SMU center Yanick Moreira, the kid who got called for the goal tend to lose them the game.  You forget about stuff like this.  There are so many high profile superstars, divas, guys clearly just using college as a stepping stone and waiting to go to the NBA.  You forget that the majority of the guys out on the court are 18-22 year old kids who worked their ass off all year, and for the seniors it’s probably the last meaningful basketball they’ll ever play.  That’s what makes college sports so great, the guys that care as much as Yanick.

As for the call itself, it’s a few hours later and I still haven’t heard a definitive stance on it.  The NCAA head official said it was the right call (obviously), people who picked UCLA said it was the right call (obviously), and people who picked SMU vehemently said it was the wrong call (obviously).  Meanwhile everyone in the middle with no rooting interest is 50/50.  One Vine made me think it was a goaltend, but people quoting the rulebook at me make it seem like it wasn’t.  All I know is it’s the shittiest way to end your season and career.
