WACO, Texas (KWTX)A former La Vega High School football standout who committed first to Baylor and then ended up at Oklahoma is free on bond and a second suspect is in custody after a string of armed robberies earlier this month.

OU freshman cornerback Parrish Cobb, 19, was released on $90,000 bond Wednesday morning after he was charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.

Oklahoma has suspended Cobb, who, turned himself in late Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with the most recent holdup at around 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 10 at a convenience store in the 100 block of East Loop 340, where a 27-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint.

Suspended?! Holy shit, Oklahoma turning over a new leaf. Would have almost guaranteed that Bob Stoops responded to this with like, 5 extra laps after practice, and maybe even a couple suicides…IN FULL PADS. I mean if Joe Mixon can just hop right back into his starting role after smashing a girl’s face in who the fuck cares about a little armed robbery? Just pointing a gun at people and demanding their purses and wallets? Sounds pretty tame by comparison.

-The victim told officers that a Dodge Challenger pulled up next to him, a man got out of the passenger side of the car, pulled a pistol and demanded his wallet.

The car had a temporary license tag, but also displayed a University of Oklahoma parking permit that the university confirmed had been issued to Cobb, the affidavit said.

Police think the Bellmead robbery is connected to two other armed robberies on or near the Baylor campus.

-At around 11:15 p.m. Jan. 7, officers responded to a report of an armed holdup in a parking lot adjacent to the McLane Student Life Center on the Baylor campus.

The victim told police he was backing out of a parking space when what he described as a black sports car with tinted windows pulled up behind him and stopped. A man got out of the passenger side of the car, walked up to the victim’s car, pulled the driver’s side door open, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

-Then at around 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 10, about 90 minutes before the Bellmead robbery, a man was walking in the 1700 block of South 5th Street near Seventh and James Baptist Church when a black sports car with tinted windows pulled up next to him.

He told officers a got out of the passenger side of the vehicle, walked up to him, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

By the way, by far my favorite part of those armed robberies was how Cobb used his car with his fucking University of Oklahoma parking pass plastered on the window. Just a world class criminal move right there.
