Martellus Bennett made a young Packer fan’s dream come true Monday after seeing a tweet from the young girl’s father.

Jim Love tweeted at Bennett explaining that although he’s a Vikings fan, his young daughter is a diehard Packers fan because of his wife. The family was heading to Green Bay Friday to attend Packers Family Night when some unfortunate circumstances struck: their flight from New York to Milwaukee was canceled due to weather.

Sorry, I’m a sucker for these types of stories. So this family from New York planned on taking a trip up to Appleton, Wisconsin which is 40 mins from where the Packers hold training camp during August. Their travel plans were derailed because of bad weather, causing them to miss the famous Packers Family Night, an event held where upwards of 70,000 fans pack the stadium for an open practice by the Packers. Even though the dad was a big time Vikings fan, the rest of his family including his young daughter were born Packer diehards. They decided to head to Appleton a few days later to see their grandparents and in a last ditch effort the dad tweeted this email out.

With a shot in the dark, Marty Bennett came to the rescue because he’s the fucking man.

What followed? Not only did the family get to watch practice, but Bennett hung out with them and decided to pick their bikes to ride after practice (this is a tradition the Packers players do with their fans).

You can’t beat that man. You just can’t. Dude is just a good human being all around. All across the league there are scumbags left and right. Guys beating their girlfriends/wives, doing all sorts of drugs, murdering people, and it makes you think guys like Marty Bennett don’t exist. Bennett has 300,000 followers on Twitter and follows just over 400, so for him to take the time to recognize this family’s issues and help them out speaks volumes about the kind of guy he is. I cannot STAND the scum of life that resides in the NFL who are in the news almost every week that cause all sorts of problems. The Greg Hardy’s, the Desean Jackson’s, the Ray Lewis’s, the Michael Vick’s can all go jump off a bridge. But good on you Marty Bennett. If you’re half as good on the field as you are off it then it’s going to be one hell of a season for the Pack.

Especially when you have this man hurling the pill…
