Little League World Series Coach Makes A Visit To The Mound Just To Tell His Son How Much He Loves Him

USA TODAYDuring a consolation Little League World Series game between the representatives from the Northwest, from Bend, Ore., and Europe (from Italy), the boys from Bend held a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning. Oregon coach Joel Jensen’s son, Isaiah, had the ball on the mound, where he had mixed pitches and kept the Italians off the scoreboard all day. He walked a batter but was still in control of the game, if he stayed in the game.

Ok we get it dude, you’re the best dad ever. You know you’re mic’ed up and being broadcast nationally on ESPN right? Yeah? Just felt like making us all realize how our own dads barely love us and how disappointed we’ve made them huh? Feel like a big shot now Coach? This is what you wanted?

His father had other ideas. Perhaps in order to get more work on the mound from another player (this is Little League, after all), or perhaps to help protect his son’s arm, Jensen trotted out to the mound after Isaiah Jensen walked a batter to lead off the inning and provided what has to be the moment of the 2016 Little League World Series so far: He told his son he was just coming to say how much he loved him, how we was proud of him and to let him know this was his last batter.

Probably shows up to the next game in a World’s Best Dad jersey drinking his gatorade from a #1 Dad mug. Asshole.

You think this is how it goes down in the big leagues too? Bruce Bochy telling his guys how much he loves them?

Max Scherzer telling coach thanks for the visit?
