Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Tournament Picks - November 23
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Unless a handful of guys go absolutely bonkers tonight, looks like I’m going to end up with a pretty brutal NFL weekend. Need to make all that money back tonight in hoops so let’s get right into it. 3 of my favorite tournament plays and a cheap value play, let’s go.
PF Demarcus Cousins $10.3K
You got Westbrook going most likely without Durant again tonight, and I’m pretty sure he physically can’t score less than 60 fantasy points at this point. Automatic. But his price is absurdly high and he’s got a less than ideal matchup with the Jazz, meanwhile, Boogie Cousins is a 60-70 point threat every time he steps on the floor…and for $2K cheaper. The foul trouble/ejection trouble is always there to threaten and ruin your night and Westbrook is way safer, but price + upside is the best on the board.
Just hold your breath, cross your fingers, and hope he doesn’t punch a ref, teammate, and/or coach in the face tonight, and you should be looking at another monster game.
SF Melo $8.5K
You’ve got Kawhi Leonard in an A+ fast paced matchup against the Suns for .3K cheaper. You got Lebron at home. You got Marcus Morris way down there at 6.2K. All real good plays. Time to zag when everyone expects you to zig – give me Melo, on the road, against one of the slowest paced teams in the NBA for my tournament lineup. He’s been verryyy low owned all season long, now add in the fact he’s got a bad matchup on paper and is coming off a horrible 20 fantasy point game, and I think you got yourself a solid GPP play. Kawhi is super safe and a lock for 35 points – Melo is risky with a lower floor, but if he hits his 50 point upside, you’ll be sitting pretty nice.

C Karl-Anthony Towns $7.2K
Towns is such a beast, and for some reason they refuse to raise his price too much. He doesn’t quite have the 60-70 point upside that Whiteside and Drummond seem to show once or twice a week, but for a cheaper price you can slot him in and feel pretty good about a 40-45 point night in a great matchup against Philly.
VALUE PLAY
SG Kevin Martin $3.9K
Everyone has been all over Dellavedova, and he’s a great value play once again tonight* with Mo Williams most likely sitting out. Only problem is he’s realistically only got like a 20 point…25 point max ceiling, which is perfect for your cash games, but not really the upside we’re looking for in tournaments. Kevin Martin on the other hand is sliding into the starting lineup tonight against the worst team in the league. Sure he could throw up a 10-15 point clunker like he has been all season, but he’s got the talent and the opportunity to put up 8-10X value, which is exactly what we want to look for in tournaments. Anytime I can get a starter playing big minutes for under 4K I like to fire em up no matter how bad they’ve looked so far in the season.
*There are whispers that Delly might be a little banged up too and that Jared Cunningham was wearing a starter’s jersey at practice today. No idea if he’s actually good, but if he’s going to get 35+ minutes running the point tonight for minimum price, probably worth a peek.
