Kmarko's DraftKings Picks - August 3rd

KMARKO-HR

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Not a great weekend baseball wise as I just missed out on cashing yesterday with a pretty awful lineup-

But let’s not forget this isn’t just a baseball section!

I actually love doing these golf tournaments – I’m not even close to good enough to recommend plays for it, but I basically check some odds and stuff then throw a lineup in, gives you something to watch and check up on over the weekend. I highly recommend it especially for the PGA Championship coming up.

Oh I also tried that MMA tournament we were promoting. I think I came in dead last? All I know is I had Rousey and she was the only person in my lineup who ended up with positive points.

But let’s get back to baseball.

Pitcher Notes:

Pretty messy pitching slate tonight. Who is the top dog?

-Kluber? Obviously elite upside – but $11.7K against the Angels in their home park doesn’t scream safety.

-Liriano? Maybe. The Cubs bats can go real cold real fast. Weather looks horrible in this one though.

-Lester? Less safety than Liriano and still the same weather problems.

-King Felix…talk about a gutsy contrarian pick. Hasn’t been on his A game lately and is pitching at Coors Field…but I’ve never seen him so cheap and we all know his upside.

-Possible value plays – Cain against a weak Braves lineup, Jesse Chavez has looked sharp, Godley has the young arm upside against a struggling Nats squad (will they break out after a frustrating sweep at the hands of the Mets though? I’d bet yes).

HITTERS

3B Kyle Seager $4.7K

Coors Night! Feel like we haven’t had one in forever, so it’s good to be back. Listen if you can afford to pay all the way up to Nelson Cruz, I’m certainly not talking you out of it. He’s homered 3 games in a row and is now taking that hot streak to the thin air of Colorado. 90% shot he goes deep tonight. But in the effort of switching it up a little bit and offering something a little more affordable, I think Seager is in line for a big game at the discount Coors price of $4.7K.

OF Adam Eaton $4.4K

Umm not to beat a dead horse, but there’s really not that many guys who are as hot as Adam Eaton right now, and they just flat out refuse to jack his price up. I mean he’s up from the 3.9K he was at last week, but 4.4 is still way too cheap for the production he’s putting out there. A virtaul lock for double digit points every night. I’m going to ride the train til the wheels fall off, and a matchup with Nate Karns certainly isn’t scaring me off him.

OF Carlos Gomez $4.1K

CarGo Jr. is fitting in well with his new team, putting up 12 and 13 points over his last 2 and batting right in the meaty part of the order. The Astros are the top offense to target outside of Coors tonight, and if you don’t want to pay up for Correa at 5.3K, Gomez is a great way to get some semi-cheap exposure in the outfield. Don’t forget this guy has the talents to be a top-priced outfielder for a long stretch this season.

VALUE PLAY 1B/2B Logan Forsythe $3.6K

Ok fuck this, I’m doubling down on Forsythe. Being totally honest, he was my value play yesterday, but he was the guy I was most confident recommending. Would have bet the farm he was hitting at least 15 points. Butttt I was dead wrong and he put up a nice 5-out dud. Everybody knows the deal by now – if the guy I pick puts up a 0 point effort, use him again the next night and watch him homer. So, cheers to that.

That’s it for me, hit me up @kmarkobarstool and be sure to keep an eye on weather reports – there are some games in danger tonight.
