If You Didn't Pick Wichita State To Upset Kansas You Must Not Have Heard About Their Secret Weapon...The Fonz

ESPN - Count “The Fonz” in as a true Wichita State believer. On a day when the Shockers beat 2-seed Kansas in the NCAA tournament in the schools’ first meeting in 22 years, we also learned they have the full support of Henry Winkler, best known for his role as The Fonz on the 1970s TV hit “Happy Days.”

Winkler’s son, Max, is good friends with Theodore Bressman, a 30-year-old screenwriter in Hollywood. Bressman grew up in New York and went to Harvard, but his mom is from Wichita, his grandmother was the chairwoman of the Board of Trustees at WSU and he attended the program’s basketball camp as a kid. So he’s cheered for the Shockers for years.

And now he’s got The Fonz on board. Bressman has watched the first two Wichita State tournament games at the Winkler house and told ESPN.com that the 69-year-old actor “became a believer today.”

He even threw up the “shocker” sign that Wichita fans have been using for years and tweeted out the team’s “Play Angry” slogan — the same slogan that Bressman had adorned on his and his groomsman’s shoes at his recent wedding.

Hey Kansas, or should I say, Ayyyyyyy Kansas.  Don’t take that loss too hard.  If you think about it realistically you never stood a chance in the first place.  Not with The Fonz fully on board the bandwagon.  That’s a certain level of cool you can’t compete with no matter how high your seed is.   Should help you get over it quicker, the fact that even if you played your best game all season, not even Kentucky was taking down that squad on a day that Fonzie was wearing an XXL pastel button down and Wichita State flat brim throwing Shockers all around the living room.

Now he’s dancing straight into the Sweet 16, cue the music and sit on it.
