Hardo High School Football Coach Wrestles His Defensive End At Practice

Coach Brazil decided to cap off the day with a wrestling competition. He challenged Julian Harris on the mat.

In short, it’s all about building team camaraderie. Brazil connects with his players like few others. The match, against 2016 defensive lineman Julian Harris, created a buzz that not only resonated around the Hebron campus but became a national story with the help of social media.

“I wasn’t expecting how fast it took off,” Brazil said of the video. “It wasn’t anything planned; I’m just trying to find new ways to connect with the kids. You try to help build their confidence, and I thought the kids might get a kick out of it. It’s funny when these things happen.”  [BR]

Missed this video on Friday but I’m glad I caught up because it’s hysterical.  Old fat hardo high school football coach challenging his players to wrestling matches.  It’s funny because we all knew a high school coach that was EXACTLY like this.  Still dreams about his playing days back in the 80s and jumps at every opportunity to show he’s still got something left in the tank when he’s not living vicariously through the high school kids he coaches.   Awesome, love this guy.  I’d play for Coach Brazil any day just as long as he didn’t make me roll around with him on a mat.

And yeah Coach Brazil won in the end with the pin, but can you really win when you get belly-to-back ragdolled like this?
