Business InsiderA new season of cult TV comedy, “Arrested Development,” is close to becoming a reality now that the cast has agreed to their salaries.

“I think we’re really close to pulling it off finally,” executive producer Brian Grazer told TheWrap on Wednesday. “All of the actors have agreed to do it and I think they’ve agreed to their compensation structure. That’s been the hardest–it’s all hard… But it should be happening soon.”

Nearly two years ago, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said the streaming video service was dedicated to producing a fifth season. At the time, he said that the contract negotiations proved to be “a complicated process.” With that apparently out of the way now, the probability of a new season is better than ever.

“Arrested Development” had previously aired on Fox from 2003 to 2005 for three seasons. The fourth season of the comedy debuted on Netflix in 2013.

Huge news that they got the entire cast back, show couldn’t work with any of the major parts missing. And even huge-r news that we’re giving it another go to begin with. Everybody with a brain and a sense of humor is pretty much more or less in agreement about Arrested – one of the funniest comedies of all time for its first three season run. Pretty, prettyyyy bad for the 2013 return. Completely forgettable if you even got through it all in the first place. Needed a rubber season in a BIG way. A shot at redemption. If it stinks, it’s not the end of the world – still had that ’03-’05 stretch that ranks with the all-time greats, to go back and binge on Netflix whenever we want. But an additional one or two or however many seasons, can’t argue with that.
