Daily Mail – A couple who rented out their family home on Airbnb for the weekend have been left distraught after returning to find it completely destroyed.

Mark and Star King rented out their property in Calgary, Canada, on popular website Airbnb and believed the holidaymakers would be four adults who were in town for a wedding.

But when they returned to their home, following concerned calls from neighbours, they were greeted with destroyed furniture, smashed glasses, used condoms and underwear strewn across the floor, barbecue sauce on the walls and every surface covered in rubbish.

Police estimate that around CA$50,000 to CA$75,000 worth of damage had been caused in the incident they have called a ‘drug-induced orgy’.

According to reports, the family then began receiving calls from concerned neighbours after a party bus turned up at their house and an excess of 100 people piled in.

Police received three noise complaints between Saturday (25) and Monday (27) and eventually shut the party down after reports of a fight in front of the house.

Speaking at a news conference, Constable Attila Horvath described his feelings upon entering the house.

He said: ‘It was almost anger; I couldn’t believe that someone could do that in three days to another person’s home,’ reported CTV News.

‘In my nine years of policing, I have never seen anything like it.’

“In my 9 years of policing I’ve never seen anything like it”: probably the absolute last thing you ever want to here after coming home from a vacation to your rented-out house. Kind of like how seeing used Trojans hanging from the rafters and cigarette burns all over your overturned urine-soaked couches is the last thing you want to see. Oh and Barbecue sauce on the walls. Don’t forget the barbecue sauce.

Guess we’ll just have to chalk this one up as a learning experience – don’t rent your house out to people you don’t know and whom you never met if you’re not prepared for the very real possibility that their first act as tenant is going to have a party bus pull up full of people ready to get high and fuck all over your home. Gotta be in the fine print of AirBnb somewhere.
