Lot of people are going to automatically launch into arguments on this whole thing, such as, why not just rent a car for like 1/9th the price?   Perfectly rational question.  Any reasonable person would ask that.  I won’t lie, it crossed my mind too.  But our one mistake?  Not thinking like a PR person.  Not in the mindset of an NFL player looking to make a good impression with his new team and his new fan base.  A guy who understands the importance of ingratiating himself with the most rabid, hard nosed, take-no-shit fans in the NFL.

What looks better?  Cornerback’s flight gets cancelled so he rents a car from Hertz, drives to Buffalo obeying all the rules of the road and staying within 5 MPH of posted speed limits, and shows up to practice?  Or – “Shareece Wright takes $632.08 Uber 8 hours away to a different state to make it to a (voluntary) practice because money is no object when compared to being there for your teammates and your city and learning a new defensive system as quickly as possible”?  “Oh and he tipped $300 because he appreciates hard working people”?

Exactly.
