NFL Picks 10/26/05

We continue to muddle our way through the NFL as we went 2-2 last week and lost our mortal lock which was the Giants over the Broncos. Last week was particularly painful since we lost our two games by a combined total of two points. I guess nobody ever said gambling was easy. We’ll just continue to drive the truck and grind away. I must admit that I fully anticipate a clean sweep this week. It’s the most confident I’ve been about our NFL picks all season.

Season Record 11-12
Last Week 2-2
Mortal Lock Record 1-3-1

Buffalo at Pats -9

The Patriots are going to re-establish themselves as the best team in the history of football over the next few weeks and it starts this Sunday. Buffalo has no chance to stay close in this game. NO CHANCE. Not only are the Pats coming off a bye week and much healthier than they were two weeks ago, but this is a primetime game and Tedy Bruschi is back. Do you think the Pats will be ready for it? By my count the Pats haven’t lost a game that they’ve been ready for in the past four years. Yes, I like there chances here.

Mortal Lock – Pats

Baltimore at Pitt -10

Usually I stay away from Monday Night Football because I don’t know the results in time to publish it for the paper. But I’m so confident that this game will be over by half time that I broke my own rule. As much as I love the Patriots this week, this pick is even easier. The wise guys in Vegas still haven’t caught up to just how bad Baltimore really is. They are going to get flat out obliterated in this game. Somehow this line opened at 8.5 and is already at 11 in some places. In reality it should be closer to 20.

Mortal Lock II – Pitt

KC at SD -6

I’m a firm believer that San Diego is the 3rd best team in the NFL behind the Pats and Steelers. They’ve lost two out of their last three games in horrific fashion which makes this a must win for them. On the flip side I still think KC is a bunch of frauds. Their defense folds anytime they play a good team and that will be the case once again this week. I also think they’ll struggle moving the ball against and under rated Charger defense.
