'Hawkeye' Debuted This Week And So Far Everyone Is SUS Until Proven Otherwise
Basement SZN is BACK ladies and gentlemen! Clem and I love doing these recaps more than anything, so I'm thrilled to have another one of these live action MCU shows back in our lives - and Hawkeye is pretty damn good through the first couple episodes!
Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld have fantastic chemistry in the lead roles, the story is nice and grounded as promised, it's funny, it has heart, the Christmas vibes/score are delightful, there's a lovable one eyed golden retriever......ANNNND there's also a whole bunch of sus motherfuckers we gotta watch out for.
I know plenty of you haven't gotten the chance to watch the double-premiere yet, so I won't spoil anything here, but I think there's a lot more characters we're side-eyeing than getting along with. Some creepy old fucks, some creepy young fucks, some creepy mob fucks, some creepy black market fucks. I'm givin everybody the side eye until they give me a reason not to.

Oh, and I think Kingpin is our new Mephisto....
We've got this grounded story involving the mob in New York City, Vincent D'Onofrio (who played Kingpin in the 'Daredevil' Netflix series) shared a bit of an ominous tweet about Hawkeye before it premiered, and we're now CONVINCED he's gonna show up to the point we may be disappointed if he doesn't. I don't know how we always do this to ourselves, but we always find a way.
