Dallas Braden Makes His World Series Picks the Day Before the MLB Season Begins
On today's Pardon My Take, our friend and co-worker Dallas Braden joined the show once again. Braden, who once threw a Perfect Game, helped Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter dive into the biggest storylines around Major League Baseball heading into tomorrow's Opening Day. There is major buzz surrounding the Mets and their new ownership, the Yankees getting over the hump, and much more. At the end of the interview, Braden was asked to make his picks for the 2021 World Series. Here is how that went down:
Mr. Cat: Give us your World Series, and your champion, and you can't use the A's [who Braden played for].
Dallas Braden: Oh man. Can't use the A's?
Mr. Cat: Can't use the A's, but we'll say the A's are going to win the World Series. There, that's said. Now, give us the, "What would happen if the A's didn't win the World Series?" Who would be in it, and who would win it?
Dallas Braden: I think it's going to be the Dodgers again, and, oh man, see we're doing all the predictions in a day and a half, so this is subject to change. I can't be held completely to this right now. But I believe the Dodgers are going to be there. I believe the White Sox are a team that is being strongly considered. I feel like if they can handle business in their division, I just like how they're built.
Mr. Commenter: Alright, can you give me one tasty future, just on the outside looking in? If everything goes right for this team, you could see them making a run.
Dallas Braden: I think that would be the Padres. I think that's a tasty future right there, because they've got to compete against those boys in blue, and they've got to get past Atlanta, if that's going to be a thing. And Atlanta was going to be the other tasty, but I feel like San Diego, I feel like Slam Diego, is little tastier.
Well, there you have it, folks. The Chicago White Sox are going to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2021 World Series, according to Dallas Braden. We all know what the Dodgers bring to the table as the defending champions, and the White Sox are a young team with a lot of hype around them. Can Chicago live up to it? Time will tell.
