The Yankees Are Flat-Out Unwatchable Right Now

Pathetic. Asleep. Stale. Life-less. Spiritless. Anemic. You can use any of those words or synonyms that come with them to describe the play of the New York Yankees through 12 games. It's BAD. They have their worst team OPS through 12 games since 1989. Their starting pitchers not named Gerrit Cole have a collective ERA above six. Corey Kluber has yet to give this team any length. No one hits really. It's all just bad. Wednesday was the first time all season they scored in the first inning, making them the last team in the league to accomplish that. Boone does nothing and shows zero fire while holding almost no one accountable. Jay Bruce not only continues to play first base, but he hit sixth today.

JAY BRUCE HIT SIXTH TODAY. Every time. he gets up I think he's going to make me eat my own words, but instead he chooses to end yet another rally. He does nothing correctly. He has zero chance to hit the baseball. Obviously one guy isn't this team's problem, but putting a complete zero at first base isn't helping. Mike Tauchman and Mike Ford have to be better options at the position until Luke Voit returns in mid-May. It's legit insane they keep playing Bruce.

DJ is struggling. Gleyber is struggling. Giancarlo can't hit anything. It's so sad to watch these games night in and night out. It's demoralizing. For every other fan in the league I imagine this is amusing and entertaining. For Yankees fans it's just ugly. I'm more excited to watch the Knicks tonight than the next game. Never thought I'd ever say that in mid-April.

I've seen plenty of slow starts from this organization in my life, but nothing like this. This is just painful and I don't know what's going to change.

New pod is out if you want to listen to the misery
