Why You Should Root For The Morehead State Eagles to Make A Run in the 2021 NCAA Tournament

Welcome to Championship Week 2021. At this time next week, we will officially have a March Madness bracket. 68 teams, one dream. Although we are still six days away from the bracket reveal, we do know that one of those teams is going to be the Morehead State Eagles.

Morehead State won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday night after taking down No. 1 Belmont. And just hours after cutting down the nets in Evansville, IN, Preston Spradlin, the head coach of the Eagles was generous enough to take some time with us on the Barstool Bench Mob on the bus ride back from the OVC Tournament.

Coach Spradlin chatted with us about how he has fun with his team, the emergence of freshman Johni Broome, his time with Coach Calipari at Kentucky, and much more.

Morehead State is heading back to the Big Dance for the first time in 10 years Back in 2011, the Eagles made a statement in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Here's a quick refresher:

What makes the Eagles a fun team to watch in 2021? Well, they literally like to have fun. In fact, Coach Spradlin told us that no team in the country has more fun than his Morehead State Eagles. He puts memes and movie clips in his film sessions. Coach Spradlin's team is far from satisfied despite cutting down the nets over the weekend.

"We're not done yet." That's what the OVC Coach of the Year told us on his bus ride back from Evansville. Next week, Coach Spradlin and the Eagles will be heading back to the state of Indiana with a chance to make a statement on the biggest stage in college basketball. Looking for a Cinderella? It could very will be the Morehead State Eagles.
