Demarcus Ware's Rookie Dinner Cost $50,000

We had future Hall of Famer Demarcus Ware on Going Deep this week and he told us about his rookie dinner. He was part of the old CBA that as a 1st round pick made him one of the highest paid players at his position immediately after signing. Not only that, the Cowboys had another 1st round pick that year that was also on the defensive line in Marcus Spears. Back then, teams would have their high draft picks take out their position groups out to an expensive dinner as a right of passage.

But $50k?!?! That's the highest I can recall hearing. It was a very fun interview with D-Ware, we talk Bill Parcells, T.O., Tony Romo and his dropped snap, playing with Peyton Manning and more. Check out the full show wherever you consume pods: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher.
