Holy shit. Six hundred and eighty three THOUSAND downvotes! It blows my mind that 683,000+ people went to that thread, let alone clicked the little down arrow next to it. Sam Ponder wouldn’t even get that many downvotes if she started bible thumping on the Barstool subreddit (love you guys, even if it has gotten a little meaner over the last year or so). This is a casual reminder that you should NOT fuck with Star Wars fans. The nerds have already inherited the Earth and they plan to make their power known one downvote at a time to give you worse karma than James Dolan. Oh yeah and maybe a handful of death threats.

WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!

Me personally? I’m not offended or outraged or pissed. Like most people, I was super disappointed with the last Battlefront. It felt like it was solely an online game, and not a very good one at that. I just wanted this game to be good. If I can’t use Vader or Luke for a while, that’s fine. Granted, I probably won’t get 40 total hours of gaming in because I’m a washed up dad. Plus I remember a time when certain characters just straight up weren’t playable. Being able to play as Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison in Street Fighter II Champion Edition blew my fucking mind. Forget about unlocking them in Street Fighter II. You had to buy the Champion Edition. But I also understand people being pissed that the two most important people in the OG trilogy cannot be used (R2D2 is the most important actual member of all the trilogies, but he’s technically not a person).

Nonetheless, I love a good internet pile-on since the internet is the best entertainment on the planet and also where soooooo much money is made and lost. And based on everything I’ve read about this situation, EA probably lost a shit ton of it the last few days. Every time I go to Reddit, I see a different thread making a joke about EA being cheap bastards.

Hilarious. And in case you don’t think a downvote can make change, it looks like EA finally listened and lowered the price for Luke and his (SPOILER ALERT) dad.

People should keep EA’s feet to the fire say they aren’t buying the game until EA figures out a way to bring NCAA Football back into our lives.

And for those wondering, yes Robbie and I will be playing on Gametime when it is released on Friday. It will likely be similar to the Call of Duty marathon that Smitty and Devlin did two weeks ago. Maybe we’ll even buy Luke and Vader with Big Daddy Chernin’s credit card just to rub it in the faces of all the haters. I don’t know. You will have to follow Gametime on Twitch, Twitter, and/or Instagram to find out.

Can’t fucking wait!

P.S. After seeing all this negative hub bub, I guess Smitty’s reaction to me saying he loved bashing Star Wars nerds make sense. Dude doesn’t want to be in the crosshairs of the angriest, loudest mob on the internet.

Should be interesting to see if Smitty can last a full 8 hour Star Wars gaming session without making 100 virgin jokes. I feel like he will be like Michael Scott as Robbie and I give him material for days like Jim.
