Lawmakers Outlaw Sex During Police Traffic Stops
Source – A new Kansas law makes it a crime for police to have sex with people they pull over for traffic violations or detain in criminal investigations.
The new law bans sexual relations “during the course of a traffic stop, a custodial interrogation, an interview in connection with an investigation, or while the law enforcement officer has such person detained.”
Now, you may be asking, wasn’t that illegal already?

Kansas law previously said “there shouldn’t be sexual relations between police and persons in jail, but it didn’t say anything about if they had been stopped on the streets or were in their custody,” Holscher said.
“This helps the person who was detained in their neighborhood or stopped for a ticket, that type of thing,” she said.
I’ll admit that there’s some good here. The article mentions this one detective who’s being accused of coercing sex out of women he’d stop by threatening to arrest them or their family members. And anything that puts a scumbag cop like that behind bars is something we can all get behind. But outlawing all cop sex while on duty? That is just a prime example of your classic legislative overreach.
Sure, we’re all about protecting the victims of crooked cops. But why eliminate the honorable tradition of consensual, on-the-clock cop sex. These guys do dangerous work and getting laid by Badge Bunnies is one of the things that makes their jobs tolerable. I knew a lot of law enforcement from when I worked in a courthouse and believe me, plenty of women there needed to sit on a towel when they’d show up in uniform. And men too. I mean, there’s a reason the lead singer of The Village People was a motorcycle cop. And to them, sex while they worked was a job perk every bit as important as overtime and an early pension.
Just consider traffic stops. They are the great variable. A total crapshoot. These brave men and women never know if it’s going to be routine, escalate into a major crime or if they’ll encounter a violent felon. As least let’s give them some hope it could turn into some casual sex, just as an incentive.
And besides, how many detainees would just as soon get off with a quick BJ just to avoid paying the ticket, getting surcharged by their insurance company or losing a day of work to go to court? This bill denies them the quick and easy remedy of a giving a blowie, which works out for everyone. Now you’re just going to clog up the justice system and put an even greater drain on the taxpayer. Once again, great job by our politicians. Attacking a real problem (coerced cop sex) by eliminating a non-problem (consensual cop sex), which was working perfectly well. Sorry about that, America’s Finest.
