People- The original Iron Man suit worn by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark in the Marvel character’s first big screen outing in 2008 has been stolen by some super villains.

“It was reported by the storage facility that the prop was missing. It is considered a burglary,” an LAPD spokesperson told PEOPLE.

The story was first reported by The Los Angeles Times, which listed the costume’s value at $325,000. Downey wore the suit in the original Iron Man film directed by Jon Favreau. The movie, which raked in $585 million at box offices worldwide, was the first installment of the multi-billion dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Just wanna set the record straight here – I did not steal the original Iron Man suit. Lotta accusations been thrown around left and right these past 48 hours and quite frankly it’s rubbish. I don’t even think my pipe cleaner arms would be able to pick the god damn thing up. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way though, I’d like to help find this thing. When did it go missing?

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the maroon and gold suit worn was reported missing from The Movie Prop Storage on Tuesday. The prop house said that the suit was taken between Feb. and April 25 of this year, according to police.

Oh so they’ve got no fuckin’ clue. Not a great start to this investigation.

Now that I think about it though, this case will be solved fairly quickly now that the general public knows the suit was stolen, right? Ol’ Jim down the block was probably showing off his “exact replica” of the Mark III suit the other day and everyone that was wondering how he had the money to afford it is now connecting the dots like the cops at the end of ‘The Usual Suspects’ and realizing that Jim’s a crook! Why would Jim steal something he couldn’t show off? What an idiot!
