Randal Grichuk Caught A Baseball With His Eyes Closed And Then Turned A Double Play

Pretty much anything athletically impressive that I’ve ever done was unintentional, so I can totally appreciate the hell out of this catch by Randal Grichuk. Lucking into half decent plays with my eyes closed was sort of my thing. Same thing applies in my sex life. I think the most impressive aspect to this play here is that he still had the sense of awareness and didn’t spend too much time on the natural “holy shit, I actually caught that ball” reaction period to get the ball in and double off the runner at second base. That’s pro shit.

Thaaaat being said, no matter what great plays he makes as a big leaguer, I will always remember Randal Grichuk as the losing pitcher in the US Semi Final of the 2003 Little League World Series, WHICH WAS NOMINATED FOR AN ESPY FOR BEST GAME IN 2004. Saugus was down by two runs with two outs and two strikes in extra innings, and still came back to win the game. Shout out Saugus. Shout out Sachems. Shout out Route 1. Shout out Kowloon. Shout out Square One Mall. Shout out Mario the Ice Cream Man.

By the way, Joe Kasabuski, the kid who popped out like a stiff with the bases loaded for the second out of the inning, has spent the last several years chirping KFC about his mom on Twitter. Really sad stuff.

That’s like only half of them.
