The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles picked 32nd in the NFL draft because the Super Bowl Champions always have the final selection in the first round as they were Super Bowl Champs. Just the way it goes for Super Bowl champions. And now the Super Bowl champs have a second round pick this year, and next draft, to play around and next courtesy of the Ravens.

Welcome to championship mode, folks. The Eagles were supposed to select at #32 in the first round and weren’t scheduled to pick next till #130 in the 4th. That’s a long time to be twiddlin’ the thumbs. Now the Eagles get a second this year, next year, and switch 4ths with Baltimore. Not the most amazing haul in the world, but certainly not the worst. Two second round selections over two years for a team pretty stacked like the Eagles is probably the better play than having one pick at #32. If Joe Douglas and Howie didn’t see anyone of true sackage worth it at #32, then it’s a good move. We’ll see everyone tomm night.

Welcome to the pack, future dogs. Stay hungry.

PS – Also, both congrats and fuck PSU and now Giants RB Saquon Barkley for going #2 overall. Gonna be a pleasurable bitch facing this thing a minimum of two times a year.
