Manny Machado Is Officially The Hottest Hitter In The World, Named AL Co-Player Of The Week

That Manny Machado, so hot right now. MLB named him AL Co-Player Of The Week with Oakland pitcher, Sean Manaea. No real shock here, as he has been murdering the ball the last week. In his last 6 games, he is batting .500 (11 for 22), with 5 homers (2-multi homer games), 2 doubles, 8 RBI, 7 runs and a .560 OBP. His first homer yesterday extended his current hitting streak to 10 in a row. He provided 2/3 of the offense yesterday by going yard twice off Corey Kluber, not something easy to do. Machado is also leading the AL in total bases. Almost as if this guy is a once in a generation type player and his current team should try and re-sign him, eh?

Machado is now tied for 2nd in the league with 8 homers, 1 behind Mike Trout. Manny has hit the homers in bunches too, he has 3 multi-HR games on the season already. He’s now hitting .356, third in MLB behind Rookie Betts (.366), and former teammate, Ryan Flaherty (.362). Machado has a .434 OBP, is slugging .713, and has a 1.147 OPS. And as hot as Machado is, that is how cold has team is. Baltimore has lost 1o of 12 and are in a nosedive. On MLB they asked Machado about his stats and awards and he basically said it doesn’t matter if the O’s aren’t winning. Not sure if I 100% believe him there, but at least he is saying the right things before they trade him.
