A Very Good Boy Stayed With A Lost 3-Year-Old Girl Overnight And Led Rescuers To Her
Fox News- A deaf and partially blind dog has a new title: hero. Max, a 17-year-old Blue Heeler from Queensland, Australia, is being praised after spending more than 15 hours in rugged bushland in the rain with a lost three-year-old girl. By Saturday morning, more than 100 State Emergency Service volunteers, police and members of the public took up the search. Leisa Bennett, Aurora’s grandmother, said she heard the little girl’s voice from the top of the mountain on Saturday and headed toward it, where she found Max. “I shot up the mountain … and when I got to the top, the dog came to me and led me straight to her,” Bennett said to ABC.net.au.

What a good boy! The best boy. Saving a little girl like it ain’t no thing. Do you think dogs look down upon humans because we’re so bad at finding lost people? It’s a strange question but I bet they do. Dogs are always finding lost children wayyyyyyyy before humans do. Max likely found that little girl a full 7 hours before the humans even realized she was missing. He found her and was like, “Well alright. Looks like we gotta stick together for another 15 hours before they find us.” I’m sure Max didn’t mind. I’m just saying that dogs have to be a little sick and tired of being the ones who have to find the lost kids.
The low key craziest part of the story is that Max is 17 years old. Seventeen! That’s maybe more incredible than him saving the little girl. 17 is old as fuck for a dog. I’m not sure I’ve heard of a dog living past 15. The fact that Max is still looking out for humans at that age is an accomplishment in itself. That’s 119 years old in dog years. Imagine caring about anything other than yourself while being triple digits. Max is well within his rights to lay around all day and all night and never even think about saving a little girl who got lost. But not Max. Max is gonna be saving lives until the day he dies. Which might be when he’s 40 years old cause Max looks pretty damn good for a 17-year-old dog.
