Patrick Reed, Apparently A Huge Imagine Dragons Fan, Holds On To Win First Masters

What a finish. Several guys came at Patrick Reed and one by one he fended them off. Huge stones on that guy. Massive. Rory. Spieth. Rahm. Rickie. They all came at the lead and Reed never surrendered it. He made HUGE putts on 12 and 14. A HUGE par putt on 17 after getting a bit of a break and hitting the hole (also could’ve gone in). You need breaks to win major championships and he got some and capitalized every time. His ball holding up on the bank on 13 was a good one, and he got out of there with a par.

Patrick Reed can handle the pressure. What an impressive win — he’s forever a Masters champ.

– Tough day for Rory. His first swing was nearly off the property. He had a short eagle putt to tie the lead on 2 but after he missed that he slipped further and further away. Disappointing day for the dude with it felt like the most confidence coming into today. He’s building up a pretty serious bank of bad memories at Augusta. Something to look out for.

– A lot of positives for Rickie, but he has to be disappointed. He threw his best at the Masters down the stretch, birdieing the 18th to get within one, but once again comes up just short at a major. This one has to hurt, and it’s making that pressure on his breakthrough greater and greater, tougher and tougher, more and more frustrating.

– Jordan Spieth is a warrior. He puts himself in the mix and drains putts under pressure like few we’ve ever seen. When he made a 30-footer on 16 to get to 14-under it really looked like he could post a record-breaking 62 and win the tournament…. from 9 back! He’s going to win this tournament several more times, and continues to prove he has the making to become one of the all-time greats. He’s just so clutch.

– Jon Rahm is worrisome out there. He’s definitely going to hurt someone in the gallery one of these days. Prayers up for that person.

– Nick Faldo quoted Imagine Dragons lyrics to finish the Masters. Yep that happened.

– The back nine at Augusta National is perfect. It delivers every single time. I can’t fucking wait until next April.

– Major championship golf down the stretch is my favorite thing to watch and it’s not even close. US Open can’t come soon enough.
