There's A Silly Rumor Going Around That The UFC Is Trying To Sign Boxer Anthony Joshua To A $435 Million Dollar Contract
Telegraph- The Ultimate Fighting Championship is making an audacious bid to sign a promotional multi-fight deal with Anthony Joshua which could earn the Londoner $500?million (£353?million) and make him the richest British boxer of all time.
Joshua has become boxing’s biggest star and The Daily Telegraph understands Dana White, the UFC president, will attend his title fight with Joseph Parker in Cardiff on Saturday week and plans to meet with the 28-year-old and his team.
White has previously declared the heavyweight has “changed the face of boxing” and multiple sources have confirmed the UFC hope to lure him away from Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, Joshua’s promoters since 2013.
It ain’t happening, folks. This is a clickbait bullshit report, possibly planted by Dana White and Anthony Joshua themselves as it benefits both’s separate but ongoing negotiations, and just looking at that number you HAVE to know it’d never happen. The report says it’s for boxing, not mixed martial arts, because ‘Zuffa Boxing’ is gonna need someone to build their promotion around, but I honestly can’t even muster up enough interest into this rumor to really flesh out the possibilities of how that could happen. Right now I’m excited to see Joshua knock out Joe Parker on the 31st setting up a superfight with Deontay Wilder later on. We can worry about a UFC deal after that.
