Josh McCown Signing His $10 Million Contract While Waiting For Food At A Chickfila Is What It's All About

I don’t know if there is a luckier person on this planet than Josh McCown. He’s done it all right. He’s now 38 years old. He’s been in the league since they wore leather helmets. Always been the backup/fringe starter, so he’s had no real pressure or expectations. If he goes in and plays well, he’s a hero. If he goes in and stinks up the join, “he’s just Josh McCown, what did you expect?” It’s an amazing role to carve out for yourself, and Josh has played that fiddle to perfection for 15 years. And not for nothing, he’s one of the better backups, with a career 97/78 TD:INT ratio.

And now in his latest and greatest act, he found himself waiting for food at a Chickfila while the Jets gave him 10 million more dollars to maybe start, maybe backup, maybe doesn’t even matter. I’d highly, 1000% doubt McCown even asked if he’d be able to compete for the starter’s job. What does he care? He’s still on the Jets. Everyone knows they aren’t winning anyway. So he’ll play when they tell him to, he’ll hold the extra points if they ask, and he’ll eat all the Chickfila he wants while making another $10 million. I just want to reiterate- a possible backup QB for the Jets at 38 year old gets to make 10 million dollars. It’s the American Dream. From day one there are zero expectations at being good. It’s as close to free money as you can get in the NFL. God bless Josh McCown. May he bathe in Chickfila Sauce for years to come.
