This New FIRE Commercial Leaves No Doubt That Tiger Woods Is Officially Back
What a short film. Bravo.
First of all, Tiger’s in the fairway. Amazing. You don’t see that very often so adding one to the confidence bank is huge.
Second of all, Tiger bends over to identify his ball.
May not seem like much but our guy’s had 3 back surgeries and a fusion; every time he bends and doesn’t grimace, it’s a big win.
Third of all, he roasts Titleist. “Pro-V1 right? You’re back there.” Vintage Tiger Woods dad joke right there and aimed at the no. 1 ball in golf to boot. Tiger not afraid to go after the best… because he is the best.
Fourth of all, 6.9 yards longer!
Sex joke (check).
Distance joke (check).
Dick joke (check).
It’s become pretty clear to me that the fire Tiger brings in commercials has a direct correlation to the fire he brings on the golf course. That’s just a fact. Think about it — every time Tiger dominates, his commercial game is off the charts.
1996
Hello World commercial comes out. Less than a year later, Tiger wins the Masters by 12 shots as a 21-year-old.
1999/2000
Juggling commercial comes out, Tiger goes on to win 4 majors in a row and 5 in 6 attempts, which included the US Open by 15 shots and the British by 8. Wins 9 tournaments in 2000 alone, easily the greatest stretch of golf ever played.
2006 (I think)
Swing portrait commercial comes out, Tiger wins 2 majors and 6 tournaments that year.
2008
Mental toughness commercial comes out, Tiger wins the US Open with a broken leg and torn ACL at Torrey Pines in the greatest major championship triumph in golf history.
2010
Weird, awkward ass Earl Woods commercial comes out, Tiger has worst 2-year stretch ever coming off the scandal.
2013

2014-2017
No commercials of note come out, Tiger records 0 wins and a million injuries.
2018

We’re back.
