Psychological Illusionist Derren Brown From "The Push" Is A Real Life Dennis Reynolds With An Accent

Shout out to Feitelberg for putting “The Push” on my radar a few weeks ago and KMarko for covering it, because it surprisingly did NOT disappoint last night. It’s 70 minutes of well paced drama and actual human intrigue, with layers you’ll be pondering and peeling away long after it ends. Sure social experiments and fucking around with human subservience is a tale as old as time, but Derren Brown weaves it in a way that is incredibly delicious to watch.

The way he draws out compliance in small doses… Sprinkles in that positive reinforcement… With all those little drips heating up into a RAGING mindfuck of a boil… And possibly murder!? *GASP*

The concept was cool and well executed but it was the side narrations that was the true star of the show. Derren’s precision along with his clear understanding of how all future decisions would pan out was seriously something that would put even the D.E.N.N.I.S. system to shame. Derren Brown is essentially just British Dennis without the scarf AND ten times the sociopathy. The world is his universe, and he… is… GOD.

I need to know how I can become a fully fledged “Psychological Illusionist” too. Derren has been melting minds for decades in the UK and is apparently the David Blaine of Brains in the magician community? Illusionist community? Mindfreak community? All I know is I have a long way to go but regardless, I am ALL IN on Derren’s switch throwing abilities. The Gathering excluded I’m not even a big magic guy but this is no conjuror of cheap tricks folks. He is in fact a sorcerer of:

Suggestion. Psychology. Misdirection. AND SHOWMENSHIP.

And just look at these fucking titles!

Here’s the rest of his YouTube channel if you’re hankering to hop down a fucked up rabbit hole. On one hand he’s simply a professional liar with a cool accent but on the other he’s a Golden GOD who can convince anyone to murder with a smile on their face. And I like that. Street goofs!

PS: Been saying this for years even before the latest Always Sunny finale, but there is NO doubt in my mind that Dennis stabbed Brian LeFevre to death in that alley. Or heavily encouraged a bum to do it. The excitement he had holding that wallet… The exuberance he felt getting off… It makes too much sense for a character with darker depths than the Joker. Have respect idiots. I need to know this truth Glenn Howerton.
