Lindsey Vonn's Dad Not At All Impressed With Her Bronze Medal

It’s been a long, bumpy road for Lindsey Vonn. She’s a GREAT women’s skier, her 81 World Cup victories are an all-time record for women’s skiing. Think about how many times Tiger Woods has won a PGA Tour event; Vonn’s got 2 more World Cup titles than that. She’s phenomenal.

But unfortunately she’s had HORRIBLE timing with injuries. The World Cups are cute but if you’re a skier, the Olympics are your Super Bowl. That’s when the bright lights are on. That’s when people care. Vonn first competed as a 17-year-old in the 2002 Winter Olympics, but then in 2006 she crashed and had to be evacuated via helicopter in Torino, she bruised her shin so badly in Vancouver 2010 she couldn’t buckle all her boot buckles (still won a gold), missed all of Sochi 2014 with a torn ACL, and came to South Korea knowing these Olympics — her first in 8 years — would be her last.

And she got a bronze medal in her best event.

She was emotional afterwards, talking about her late grandfather, the abuse she takes online, and the toll skiing has taken on her body.

Her dad’s reaction?

NY Post“It’s great skiing, but it reminds me of something that Buddy Werner used to say. He said there’s two places in the race, first and last, and I only want one of them.”

Kildow’s criticism of Vonn’s bronze run was centered on her needing to be more aggressive.

“Just little, little spots,” he added. “Just not quite risking enough. Not straightening the line out, just the ski was little … not quite carving in some places like it should have. But a great result. A great result.”

Ruthless. I like that he tried to salvage the comments with “great result, great result” but the damage was done. The true feelings shown through. Father Vonn is RATTLED Lindsey skied too much like a little bitch to take home something better than bronze. Yikes.

Live look at Vonn father/daughter bonding time.

RIP Herb.
