Listen. I happen to be a Philly sports fan who actually enjoys the reputation that we get from the rest of the country. You want to call us trash and talk about how mean and disrespectful we are? Go right ahead because if that’s going to keep you out of here then that’s probably the best case scenario. We don’t want to be a fan base that everybody loves. We don’t want to be a city where opposing fans feel comfortable traveling to because that would make us a bunch of bitches who let our stadiums get taken over. I’m sorry but I’ll take home field advantage like the Eagles had on Sunday night over a friendly reputation 9 days a week.
So the point of blogging this video isn’t to argue that we’re no worse than Minnesota fans. It’s just to make the same point that literally everybody in Philadelphia has been trying to make over the last week or so, which is that every single fan base has a few idiots who get too drunk and act like savages. Are there maybe more drunken idiots per capita in the Philly sports fan base as opposed to others? Sure, I can concede that. I can concede that maybe a few more Eagles fans than necessary crossed some sort of “ethical fan conduct” line on Sunday. But who gives a fuck? We’re not trying to be best friends with you. We just want you to be miserable and then get the hell out of here with a loss.
Just know that this shit happens in your own building as well. The only difference is we can handle ourselves in your city while you all end up crying like a bunch of bitches when you leave ours. If that makes us the degenerate, class-less assholes that everybody else claims that we are, then so be it. But at least we know who we are and can rest our head at night knowing that we’re not pretending we’re someone we’re not. The rest of you? Not so much.
No one likes us, we don’t care. So it’s time for Philly fans everywhere to finally stop giving a shit about any of these sob stories coming out of Minnesota. Let them cry as loud as they want. It still won’t be anywhere near as loud as the Linc was after that Patrick Robinson pick.
