Another Twist in the Billy Preston Saga - Signs With Bosnian Club

Oh, just like everyone expected Billy Preston has signed with BC Igokea, a Bosnian professional team. Preston was the heralded recruit who signed with Kansas but has been sitting out all season after being involved in a car accident early in the year. He was held out of competition due to an investigation of who paid for the car.

This is obviously serious news as Kansas was expecting to get Preston back at some point this season. The initial reaction was he’d be out for nine games and then when that passed it really became up in the air as to if he’d play this year. Now we clearly know he’ll never be a Jayhawk.

Billy Preston is slated as the No. 59 prospect on and not listed in DraftExpress’ top-100 on ESPN. Preston is a 6’10” big who is known for being a scorer. He’s a decent shooter who can create  his own shot and get to the rim. However, he’s a liability defensively and can be a big time ball stopper. He’s also incredibly old for the class as he’s already 20 years old.

He joins a roster that includes guys like Malcolm Lee, Dominic Artis and Katin Reinhardt – all guys who played college ball in the US. As for Kansas, they at least now their roster going forward. Expect to see more Silvio De Sousa going forward as the depth in the frontcourt is still light.
