Not many changes this week in the top-10. #1 team in the country, Notre Dame, had the weekend off. Last weeks #2 team, St. Cloud State, probably wishes they had the weekend off as well, after splitting a weekend series with Western Michigan in an absolute shootout that saw 19 goals scored. The Huskies come in at #3 this week, after the 7-5 loss and 4-3 win to Western Michigan. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for SCSU, but this team plays with so much confidence, they know they’ll be fine.

Clarkson moves up a spot from #3 to #2 to this week after a nice 2-0-0 weekend. The Golden Knights were on the road this weekend, winning 4-1 at Union and 3-0 at Rensselaer. With a 10-0-0 conference record, its safe to say the ECAC has been easy this season for Clarkson. They’ll have their biggest test of the season this Friday, against a Harvard team who hasn’t loss in regulation since November. The Crimson are hot so expect to see a good game Friday night at Clarkson.

Northeastern moved up two spots this week from #10 to #8 after sweeping Maine, winning both games by a score of 5-3. Maine’s a team that you really wouldn’t put much stock into beating over the past few seasons, being the bottom dwellers of the Hockey East. But after an unbeaten December, Nolan Vesey and the boys showed the Hockey East and the rest of the NCAA that they are here to play this season. Overall, great weekend for the Huskies though getting the sweep over a hot team from Maine.

Also, special shoutout to the NU hockey team for personalizing their breast cancer awareness jerseys this weekend, putting “I Fight For ….” on each players jersey, allowing them to write in who they personally fight for. A great gesture from the Huskies to help raise money and awareness for a terrible disease that affects way too many people close to us. Beauty jerseys, beauty move.

Providence makes their return to the top-10 this week, coming in at #10 after a 1-0-1 weekend. The Friars won their 5th straight game on Friday night, beating BC and tieing BU on Saturday. Providence is a team that no one has really written off this year. I think everyone who watches college hockey knows what this team is capable of and knows how dangerous they can actually be. I can tell you right now that I would NOT want to see Providence in the first round of the tourney, upset city written all over it.

Austin Poganski added his second goal of the night on Friday night witht his beauty. The goal wasn’t what I wanted to highlight here. The pass that sets up the goal. Oh my god. Kid got his ankles broken.

Robby Jackson wins celly of the week again. This kid is an electric factory who will win celly of the week every week if he keeps breaking out shit like this. Don’t hate, appreciate.
