Eagles Top 3 Picks From 2011 Draft Are Now Off The Team
PHILLY – The Eagles are still cleaning up the debris from the 2011 draft, the latest move coming Sunday when they waived third-round pick Curtis Marsh. The top three picks from that class are now off the roster after only two seasons, a dreadful and revealing indication of just how the bad that draft was for the Eagles.
Thanks, Andy. Danny Watkins, Jaquin Jarrett and now Curtis Marsh. A Canadian firefighter who only played football for 2 years, a Temple safety who was valued to go no higher than the 5th round taken of course midway through the 2nd, and a CB who seemed like he could start but never had any fire in his sac. That means the top 3 picks from 2011 draft are now no longer with the Eagles and the 4th round pick was a kicker (along with backup Casey Matthews). A FUCKING KICKER. Yeah, Alex Henery had the highest FG percentage in NCAA history and is decent but unless it’s The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon no draft pick that high should be wasted on a kicker. The lonesome guy from that draft who is a starter is 6th rounder Jason Kelce who blew out his knee last year. Only 3 players are left on the team from that class. Remember Julian Vandervelde? Yeah, me neither.
SF’s top 3 picks? Aldon Smith, Kaepernick and gay basher but starter (albeit got torched in the SB and is out for the season this year) Chris Culliver. Houston sured up their powerhouse D with JJ Watt and starters Brooks Reed and Brandon Harris. NE, who picked after the birds, got reliable OL Nate Soldier, Shane Veeren and Stephen Ridley. I’m not saying that every single selection is going to work out, but to have your top 3 picks be essentially out of the league after just 2 season is clown drafting, bro.
Still will take it over whoever the Jets picked.
