As Cholly would mumble, “It is what it is.” It won’t be announced till 2:30 during a press conference, but it’s pretty much as official as it gets. Just a shame that the winningest manager in Phillies history goes down as the scapegoat of this teams downfall. Well, it is his fault (along with Amaro’s). This isn’t 2008 anymore where you have 4+ guys bombing 30+ homers/year. Need to change up that stategy and maybe play some small ball when you have guys like Juan Pierre and a parapelegic Placido Polanco at the plate night in and night out. Would it kill you to bunt the ball when it’s 1st and 2nd, nobody out and Jimmy is up? Really?

But enough rant, Charlie did lead this team to it’s greatest run since the late ’70’s to early ’80’s, possibly ever.

Still though, kind of sad that legitimately the last memory we’re left with as this old man waddles into the sunset. Yummy.
