Kristaps Porzingis Is Playing Out Of His Fucking Mind Right Now

kp

What a goddamn start for our little Latvian angel! As I’ve said a bunch of times, this season is about 2 things for me as a Knicks fan:

1. To see what Frank Ntilikina had as a player or at least just stare at his monstrous wingspan.
2. To see if KP was ready to handle the scoring load as the number 1 option on a #Me7o-7ess Knicks team

And so far, so good on both accounts. While Frank’s offensive game is obviously raw as a 19-year-old that was playing in a French pro league a few months ago, his defensive prowess with those tentacles is a goddamn treat. Look what he did against the Nets:

While also getting deeper inside Dwyane Wade’s ass than a certain someone’s face (allegedly)

The French Prince of MSG may not be putting up crazy numbers, but defense is that is fun to watch (I am allowed to say that because people have told me that Knicks fans are super smart and appreciate things like defense more than most for years).

Meanwhile our Unicorn is doing shit never done in Knicks history

Granted that history isn’t littered with confetti and trophies. But there have been a few pretty decent players and scorers to don the orange and blue over the years. And not only is KP putting up numbers but he is doing it in style.

That right there is the payload. The moneyshot. The reason to watch Knicks games. I have never seen a glitch like Kristaps Porzingis in my life. A 7’3″ player with a jumper wetter than the Hudson that can also stifle you around the rim like a bouncer at the clubs Portnoy used to go to.

And not only that, but he wants to get better.

I don’t think it’s any secret how much I sweat KP. I went to fucking Latvia for the guy. And he has somehow STILL surpassed everything I thought he would be both on and off the court back when the Knicks drafted him 4th to a cascade of boos. There aren’t many days that it feels good to be a Knicks fan. But today is definitely one of them. And while I still will not blame him if he ever left this tire fire of a franchise, it’s only going to be more painful the more he plays like this.
