Darren Till Says He Was 200lbs In The Cage Against Cowboy Cerrone (The Fight Was At 170lbs)

“About 200 pounds…I ain’t no welterweight. I’m a light heavyweight fighting in the welterweights. It should be illegal what I’m doing. The UFC should ban it…but they can’t, because I do it naturally, and I do it professionally, and no one can do a fuckin’ thing about it, so fuck ‘em all.”

tfw when someone brags about dangerously cutting a life threatening 30lbs

This is the shit that I hate that’s running rampant in the UFC, and mixed martial arts in general right now. Hazardous weight cuts. I blogged my infuriation with it when Kevin Lee briefly missed weight for his fight with Tony Ferguson, and this just makes me angrier. Like, this is not something to brag about. 30lbs is not a healthy cut, no matter how “healthy” you claim the process is. That is unnatural rehydration and you’re absolutely risking your life cutting there, especially because it’ll make you way more susceptible to illness.

That being said, I kinda love Darren Till. Homeboy went out there, beat Cowboy senseless and stopped him in the very first round, something nobody really expected him to do, and cut a wicked promo on Mike Perry. I’m pretty much all in on him. Platinum Perry also had a great response staring a hole directly through the barrel of the camera.

I need this fight to happen eventually. Violence everywhere.
