Philly
– The obituary of a late New Jersey sports fan is garnering attention after it takes a parting shot at his beloved football team. An obituary for Jeffrey Clayton Riegel on the Wimberg Funeral Home website seemed to be riddled with numerous jokes and comical lines. The Atlantic City native passed away on August 18, and was described as a ‘wonderful’ husband, uncle, brother, and son.

The obit reads:

“God gave Jeffrey the miracle of time to prepare which allowed him to verbalize his last wishes. He requested to have 8 Philadelphia Eagles as pall bearers so the Eagles can let him down one last time.”

A spokesperson for the Eagles declined to comment about Riegel’s last wishes. It is unlikely any of the Eagles will participate in Riegel’s services.

Respect. You do what you gotta do to get your point across as a fan. And taunting your team to the grave with your final wishes is the ultimate “Fuck you, I’m outta here.” And of course the Eagles are so totalitarian about ANY sort of bad publicity they couldn’t even address a the decent dying jab. They could’ve very easily spun it their own way with a “Our fans are very passionate, and we appreciate all of the emotion they provide to the Eagles. Although no players will be able to fulfill Mr. Riegels last wishes due to the preseason, we will hope to have him rise from the ashes with the help of a Super Bowl victory. RIP In Peace.” Boom. Sign me up as the PR guy thingy. I can be a cheerleader for the system. They’ll need one soon as Dave Spadaro’s kneecaps are eroding away as a result of overly blowing every dick in the Eagles administration.

Remember when an Eagles fan got pinched a few years back for charging the field on gameday and spreading around his dead mom’s ashes. THAT’S how you honor a deceased die hard fan’s final wishes. I fully plan on doing that for my father, even when the cause of death on his death certificate will indeed be the Eagles.

PS – Give Mr. Riegel respect where it’s due, but Browns fans need all the credit they can get. Which is next to nothing to begin with.
